Pearl: A mixture of 10 authentic C grade (please refer to the below A-D pearl grading guide for details) Tahitian pearls and Australian South Sea pearls Pearl measurements: 11-12mm in diameter Pearl shape: round to slightly off round Pearl color: Tahitian: all natural multi-color: black, green, silver, gray (not dyed or treated) South Sea: all natural golden Surface: some lines and natural blemishes. A couple pearls have broken nacre where the hole can be drilled to make them perfectly fine. Luster: medium to high Nacre: greater than 0.8mm required by law
The A-D Pearl Grading System (The Tahitian & South Sea Pearl System)
A: Highest-quality pearl, very high luster and only minor imperfections over less than 10% of its surface. B: High or medium luster. Surface may have some visible imperfections over no more than 30% of its surface area. C: Medium luster with surface defects over not more than 60% of the surface area. D: May have many slight defects over 60% of surface or deep defects over no more than 60% of surface.
Note: Some sellers use AAA, AA, A grading system which is used more commonly on fresh water and Akoya pearls. It is not a typical grading system for Tahitian and South Sea pearls. The photos are the actual images of the lot.
